FUERTEVENTURA

The island is of volcanic origin as the other Canary Islands. It’s only 84 km away from the African coast and is the second biggest island of the Canaries with a dimension of 1.731 km2.

The island of Fuerteventura is well known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and all year round warm water and stable trade winds that make it a paradise for all kind of water sports.

Of course windsurfing stands at the first place, and that’s why Fuerteventura is called the Hawaii of Europe.

Everybody, beginners or cracks find “their” beach! But there are not only water sports, Fuerteventura has many other secrets to discover.

Highlights of the island are for example a wreck of an old luxury liner “The American Star” that you can find at the west coast of the island.

As you can see on the picture the wreck isn’t far away from the beach and you think you can just touch it.

But please be careful, swimming at this place it quite dangerous because of a strong current and many invisible parts of the wreck that are lying in the water.

There is a zoo-park for our small visitors in a village called La Lajita.

You can ride on camels, see snakes and all other kinds of reptiles, crocodiles, monkeys etc.

The park itself is very beautiful and you will feel like in the oasis in the middle of the desert.
